Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer Review
OK, I cannot begin to say enough good things about this eyelid primer. In the past I have used other eyelid primers, Stay Don’t Stray and Too Faced Shadow Insurance to name a couple, that claimed they would not crease, they would add wear to your eyeshadows, help with eyelid crepiness and so on and so forth. Sadly, I never found those claims to be true, until now. Not only does it do all this, it also has an added 20 spf if that kind of thing is important to you. For me I just love the long wear it gives to my eyeshadows. Sometimes we pay a lot of money for our eyeshadows and of course we want them to last but even the best and most expensive shadows can crease and wear off as the day progresses.
After being disappointed in so many eyelid primers I had pretty much just quit using them at all, it just added a step to a getting ready routine that already had too many. I purchased this from our local Ulta to try it because they have such a wonderful “love it or return it” policy that I figured I’d be out nothing but some of my time if I tried it.
For starters it has a click up dispenser so you can control the amount of product you get and if you get too much you can click it back down so that’s a plus. When I first applied it I tried using the silicone tip dispenser that comes on it but I found that I made kind of a mess when I did that. When I used the tip I found that I applied too much and it was hard to smooth out like it needed to be. Now I will just dab it on my eyelid and smooth it out with my fingers and that does much better. It does not dry out my eyelid, it actually helps add some moisture to them which pleases me. It also adds a layer of pigment that evens out the discolorations that often occur on our eyelids so you have a good even base to work with. The keeper for me though is how much it increases the wearability of all of my powdered eyeshadows. I have not tried this under a cream eyeshadow because I just do not use them that much so I can not speak to the results you may see using it with that product. I just know that I can go all day and my eyeshadow will not crease, will not budge and will not fade, even the inexpensive shadows will not wear off or fade.
There are not many products out there that I love but there are many I like and will use again, this one I love. It is $29, which to some may seem steep for an eyelid primer, but it does not take a lot so it will last a while. For me it is a good investment because it does what it claims it will do. It also throws in the added benefit of something Benefit calls an EnviroDefend complex which has been known to help guard your eyelids against sun, smoke and pollutants, so that can’t hurt can it? I have sensitive eyes and this does not bother them at all so it is probably safe for the majority of potential users out there.
This is a product, that when it is gone, I will purchase it again and I will also tell anyone listening that this is an awesome product that they need to use! Benefit, you hit the nail on the head with this one and created an excellent product that holds true it’s claims.
Well, thank you my dears for dropping by and taking the time to read my thoughts and opinions on Benefit’s Air Patrol Eyelid Primer.
