In the September Glossy Box I received the following items: Julep Luxe Up Your Lips; Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara; Biossanse The Revitalizer; Emite` Artist Colour Powder Blush in Color 108 and Nails, Inc. Nail Polish in Uptown.
The Nails Ins. polish is a very pretty shade of a dark pink nude. I will be taking this with me on my next pedicure, it is a beautiful fall transition shade. If I did not have my manicures done in Shellac I would be using this on my next manicure as well. Highly recommend this color as it will flatter any skin tone from the lightest all the way to the richest of skin colors. The full size is .47 oz and retails for $14 the size I received was a tad smaller at .33 oz so I’d place value at around $8-$9.
Now the gloss by Julep. When I opened this up and saw that it had one of the cooling metal tips I got all kinds of excited. While it does have ingredients to soothe, hydrate and plump lips like vitamin E and pumpkin seed oil and it smooths on great the taste is horrible, like couldn’t get it off fast enough horrible. I don’t even think I’d give this away it tastes so bad which is really sad. The applicator is awesome and the hydration and plumping would be great but they really need to work on the flavor. Ick. The gloss that came in my Glossy Box was full size at .42 oz and it retails for $24
The Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! mascara is in the color black. While I love this mascara formula and the awesome applicator wand I am really tired of receiving mascara in Every. Single. Box. I have received in the last 3 months and it is usually this particular type. I have nothing against Benefit but I’d really like to try something new. The full size of this product is .3 oz and retails for $23. This box size was 0.1 oz which places value at around $7.
This is the Biossance Revitalizer which contains a plant derived version of squalane which is a hydrator. I did like the luminosity and moisturization I received from this product. I will use up the sample size I received but probably will not actually purchase a full size, not because it is a bad product but simply because I have many that do the same thing and I need to use them up as well. I would consider purchasing once all my others run out but that will take quite a while. I do believe this product would be a good choice for anyone who is on the dry side or has aging skin they feel like needs added moisture. The full size of this product is 1.7 oz and sells for $58. The sample size I received is 0.05 oz so I would place value at about $8.
Well, this is what happened to the blush I received. I tried to fix it using the alcohol method but that only worked up to a point, it is starting to fragment again. The brand is Emite` makeup which I am not familiar with, it is color 108. It is as very dark peachy-bronze color. This might be good for doing some contouring but since I do not do that I’m not sure how useful it will be to me. The product does however have a really silky smooth feel that applies pretty well. I think if this had been in a more coral/peach I would probably use it. Who knows I might yet use it but it is iffy at this time. This is a full size product at .35 oz and retails for $22.
So, in this month’s Glossy Box I received 2 full size products and one almost full size and then the 2 small samples. The total value of this month’s box is about $69, that is a pretty good value since the box is only $21 a month, too bad the 1 of the 2 full size products will not be used by me 🙁 . All in all I received relatively all name brand products which I like, just wish there had been more I would have actually used.
Well my lovelies that is all I have right now so TTFN and I will see you next time for my next subscription review. If you have any thoughts to add please feel free to make any comments because I would love to hear your thoughts especially if you are familiar with any of the products in this months box.
