Ipsy Bag Review for August 2015
Here is the August 2015 #Ipsy Bag! I received it yesterday and have already played with everything. It comes with an adorable #houndstooth bag that is a vinyl coated cotton ( think Dooney Bourke bag), so for Alabama fans #rolltide ,the roll tide aside, it is a really cute bag and the hot pink zipper is a nice accent. This month’s bag had Starlooks Pro Luxe Longwear Eyeliner Pen, eco-beauty, by La Fresh Group good night, night cream, Hikari Lip Gloss in Merlot, Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco & Alia nail polish in Mister Pookies.
Here is a picture of a swatch of the Lip Gloss on the back of my hand. It is a very deep mauve-ish color. It looks dark on my hand but on my lips it is a very flattering shade, it’s like my lip color only better. I think it will be a universally flattering shade on all skin tones. Please pardon the dry skin, I did not moisturize before I did this (shame on me).
The Starlook Eyeliner is a full size and it is a felt tip pen. It will easily make a thin line if you hold it straight on but if you tilt sideways will create a wider line if you want a winged look.
The nail polish is by Alia, the color is called Mister Pookies. I am kind of bummed about the color, I had been seeing other people on #Ipsy’s website posting an absolutely beautiful shade of coral and I SO HOPED I would get that color. I got mud 🙁 Not bashing on Alia but no means like I said, Coral=beautiful, plus I love the color Coral. Here is a picture, I will let you be the judge. It looks black but it is seriously the color of dark mud….
The Marc Anthony Argan Oil is a hair oil. It is very lightweight with no harsh smell, it actually smells very good, kind of a sweet & fruity fragrance. It goes on the lower ends of your hair for conditioning and moisture, it does both. I have fine hair and I have to be careful of oils but this one did not weigh my hair down or make it look oily, it absorbed it and I had happy hair.
The eco-beauty Good Night cream is for hydration, smoothing and plumping up the skin on your face and neck. It is a recyclable squeeze bag that is 0.5 oz., a little goes a long way so it should last me a while in my night cream rotation. It has hyaluronic acid, peptides, shea butter, aloe, vitamin E, maqi berry, licorice root, ginko biloba leaf, grape seed and hickory bark. There is barely any fragrance (good for my allergies) it is soothing, hydrating, smoothing and the area around my eyes looked a little fuller after using. Imparts a nice radiance without being greasy and my face was still smooth and moist when I woke up this morning. There were no ingredients on the list that I couldn’t say or didn’t recognize so that made me feel good, I like to know what I am putting on my face if I can.
Well that’s it for tonight’s #Ipsy Bag review. I hope it has helped so you can see colors and know what you might be getting for August. I hope you score better on the nail polish sigh.
