The theme for the November Ipsy Bag was Beauty Blast, The Stars Are Aligning. It arrived in it’s typical hot pink mailer bag and inside was this adorable makeup bag that was especially pretty this month. I received a Crown concealer brush, a Full Exposure Smashbox Mascara (that was in every bag), a tre’Stique lip crayon, a Dermelect ME nail polish and a Go Away Gloomy Day skin essence.
The tre’Stique lip crayon is in the color Belize Bordeaux from what I can tell, the packaging does not say so I went to the tre’Stique website and looked up the color. I really like the design of the lip crayon, it is unique. This is a sample size of the lip crayon, the full size has the matte lip crayon on one end and a BB lip balm on the other end and is $28. I really love the color, it is like my own lip color just a tad deeper and in another of my subscription boxes I received a lip pencil that is an exact match to the lip crayon color so that was an unexpected plus. The mascara is a deluxe sample size of the Smashbox Full Exposure mascara. This mascara can be purchased from multiple retailers and is $20.
This is the Dermelect ME Nail Lacquer, I apologize that I do not remember the color, but it is a pretty nude shade. This polish has keratin-protein, peptides and of all things, alpha hydroxy acid. This polish seemed really runny to me and took a while to dry so I’m not sure how it would perform on application to nails. This is a color I will use next summer when we get sandal weather back. This is the second subscription box where I have received this particular brand, they must be making the subscription box rounds with this one. This is a full size and it retails for $14 and I know it can be purchased from the DermStore.
The LeeAnni Eco Go Away Gloomy Day Serum. This is one of those products I’m just not very sure about. There was really no information with this product in my bag so of course, I googled it. What I find is that this is suppose to be some type of serum but to me the consistency is wrong for a serum, it is more like a toner, maybe? I’m thinking it may be an skin essence which to me is basically a really expensive skin toner. Also, I am not really finding any where to purchase this online except for Ebay and of course it is on the Ipsy site but not for sale. I am actually entirely confused about this being in my bag since it doesn’t really say what it is and I can’t seem to purchase anywhere, so what is it’s purpose in my life?
This is the Crown C224 – Oval Concealer Brush. It can be purchased directly from the Crown Brush site. They are currently selling this brush for $2.98. This is really just your average concealer brush, no worse or no better than one’s I’ve previously used.
To speak honestly I was underwhelmed with this month’s bag. However, everyone receives a different bag based on the choices made on the questionnaire when subscribing to the bag. My personal highlights were the adorable little bag itself and the tre”Stique lip crayon, the rest I could take or leave.
Well that’s it for this month’s Ipsy bag. As always thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts and opinions on these products.
