RE:CIPE by SLOWGANIC, SLOWGANIC CLEANSER
RE:CIPE by Slowganic, Slowganic Cleanser, this is the best cleanser ever! I discovered this on the MEMEBOX Korean Beauty website. I have now gone down the rabbit hole…
My purchase of this Green Tea Slowganic Cleanser was my first foray into the Korean Beauty Market, and I must say I am not disappointed. Since this purchase, I have bought many more Korean beauty products and been pretty pleased with every purchase. The Korean’s have this beauty thing down pat and are doing exciting things right now in the beauty market. If you haven’t tried Korean skincare you owe it to yourself to try it. They are always on the cutting edge of new skincare and makeup products, miles ahead of everyone else.
RE:CIPE Slowganic Cleanser comes in 3 flavors: Slowganic Cleanser – Green Tea; Slowganic Cleanser – Lemon and Slowganic Cleanser -Adlay and they each serve a different function. I chose the Green Tea because it stated that it helped soothe redness, and it did not lie! Each time I have used this cleanser the redness from my rosacea becomes less and less noticeable. There is a whole host of ingredients (see below) so I’m not real sure which ones are doing it, I am just thrilled that they are.
I had given up hope of ever using another cleanser besides coconut oil on my face as everything I used seemed to flare up the rosacea and leave it redder and angrier than it was before I washed it. One use of this and the redness was substantially reduced and then a few more washes and it was almost gone. I am not saying that the rosacea will not flare back up if it is triggered, but that upon washing my face the redness is almost completely gone after each wash. This makes my makeup application look so much better. And I look better without makeup by not looking like a Santa with bright red angry cheeks.
This is a very strange product to use; the consistency is unlike anything I have ever used before. As you can see it comes packaged and sealed in a glass jar with a hinged lid that locks down over an inner cap that helps to seal in the product’s moisture.
The texture, well the texture is almost like marshmallow crème; it’s bouncy, jiggly and cushiony, but at the same time a sort of a gel-ish semi-solid but not sticky or tacky. It comes with the little spatula to get it out of the jar so you don’t have to stick your fingers in it, which I really like (no contamination). The physical description of the product is difficult to convey, you almost have to just use it to understand this rather bizarre product (which I highly recommend).
A little goes a loooong way. The first time I got out a really big scoop not knowing what it would do and I wasted so much product 🙁 I could have washed my face 3x over with what I used the first time. Lesson learned.
As you spread it on your face it begins to melt into the skin, I even use it across my eyelids and my lips. I continue to massage it in for a good 1-2 minutes and then I begin adding a small amount of water at a time, then it starts to turn into foam. I continue massaging until my face is all foamy and then I rinse using luke-warm water and keep rinsing until it is all gone. This particular flavor gives a good ph balance so it leaves my face feeling clean, soft and calm with no dryness or tightness whatsoever. It feels really well hydrated with no funky residue. It has a soft, almost indiscernible green tea scent that is actually very pleasant.
But OMG! You guys, I am now totally obsessed with this cleanser and when it is gone I will be buying more. I think I will stick with this flavor. The Lemon sort of scares me because of my sensitive skin and I just don’t know about the Adlay, so I believe I will stick with what I know.

Currently, I am obsessed with all things Korean and in the upcoming weeks, I will be reviewing other Korean Beauty products that I have tried. I have not yet ventured into Korean makeup, just the skincare for now, but I intend to begin exploring that part of Korean Beauty as soon as I am done with all the other products I have purchased. I only have room for so much in my bathroom; as it is now I am filled to capacity and I am about to reach critical mass. My daughter says I need an intervention for my addiction 🙂
As an aside, if you do decide to get into using Korean Beauty products most everything on the boxes is written in Korean because the products do actually come from Korea through their American retailer. If you cannot remember how to use a product, go and look it up on whatever website you purchased it from and that will give you the English instructions. These Korean Beauty product websites are like our Sephora or Ulta, they carry many different beauty lines only their brands are all Korean brands.
I purchased this particular product from MEMEBOX, but another website I have found is called Glow Recipe. I am sure there are many more out there, and as I find them I will add them to my useful links page so you won’t have to keep looking for them.
I really hope you enjoyed this review and that it will make you want to dip your toes into the Korean Beauty market. I am really glad I decided to try it. Believe it or not, it was my husband that sent me down this path all because of a product he saw on Sharktank of all places.
